Medicare Enrollment
 Malia asks, "Since my mother received a Medicare card in the mail,
does she need to complete an application to enroll in Medicare?"
The
CSR responds, "No, she will be automatically enrolled in the
Original Medicare Plan after she receives SSA cash benefits for
24 months.
"Since she received her Medicare card in the mail, she is entitled to
Part A benefits and is automatically enrolled in Part B. She will be
expected to pay the premium for Part B coverage unless she declines it.
There are instructions with the card explaining what she should do if
she does not want Part B."
