Estimating the Disability Benefit for the Disabled Worker

PreviousNext
Copy of a Social Security Statement

The amount of a person's monthly disability benefit is based on his or her lifetime average earnings covered by Social Security.

The annual Social Security Statement sent to all workers includes an estimate of the disability benefit. Click this link to access information on getting an estimate of disability benefits.

A worker can use online calculators available on the SSA website to estimate disability benefits on his or her own record (see www.ssa.gov/planners/calculators.htm).
