FERS Retiree Annuity Supplement |  |  |
The retiree annuity supplement is a benefit paid by OPM to certain FERS employees who retire and are entitled to an immediate annuity before age 62. This supplement:
- Approximates the value of FERS service in a Social Security benefit.
- Provides an income similar to Social Security before age 62.
- Is payable until the retiree reaches age 62.
The retiree annuity supplement is unique to FERS. There is no comparable provision for CSRS or CSRS Offset employees.
